Role Overview
We are looking for a Group Account Director to lead key regional client relationships, shaping strategic direction, elevating creative thinking, ensuring operational excellence, and driving business growth across markets. This role is for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, creative environment and is equally comfortable setting the vision and rolling up their sleeves to deliver it. You know how to solve complex business challenges for brands and how to mobilize teams to make it happen.
Key Responsibilities
* Act as the senior point of contact for regional clients, nurturing relationships built on trust, insight, and shared ambition.
* Understand client business goals, market context, and brand challenges to proactively shape strategic direction.
* Translate client briefs into actionable, creative strategies and ensure flawless execution across touchpoints.
* Lead and grow existing accounts, identifying upsell/cross-sell opportunities and building long-term partnerships.
* Contribute to new business efforts, including pitches, strategic proposals, and cross-market expansion.
* Leverage knowledge of EMEA markets (with a focus on Benelux, DACH & Iberia) to guide culturally relevant strategies and creative approaches.
* Be curious about consumer behavior, competitors, and market shifts in the digital, social, and ecommerce space to shape relevant campaigns.
* Partner with clients on strategic planning to align creative output with business and market objectives.
Project & Operations Oversight
* Oversee the end-to-end delivery of campaigns, ensuring timelines, budget adherence, quality standards, and market compliance.
* Be comfortable & agile to work within an ever-transforming AI-powered operational model, supported by tools that optimize workflows, reporting, content creation and more.
* Work closely with cross-functional teams (creative, strategy, production, media) to ensure integrated delivery.
* Prioritize and manage multiple workstreams and brands simultaneously, navigating fast-paced, high-volume environments.
* Coordinate content distribution across various digital platforms (internal and client owned) and collaborate with media agencies and local market teams.
* Monitor and report on account performance, budget forecasting, and resource planning.
* Lead budget planning and control, ensuring profitability and efficient resource allocation.
* Collaborate with finance and leadership teams to manage revenue forecasts and account growth targets.
* Present strategic recommendations, creative ideas, and performance insights to senior client stakeholders.
* Maintain open and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment at every stage.
* Guide and mentor junior team members, promoting best practices, international thinking, and strong client service.
* Foster a collaborative and motivating environment within cross-disciplinary teams.
Social Media Expertise
* Provide thought leadership in social-first strategies, platform-specific opportunities, and digital engagement.
* Oversee the development of campaigns that drive community, awareness, and performance across social ecosystems.
Performance & Optimization
* Evaluate campaign impact through data and analytics and recommend adjustments to improve outcomes.
* Apply a test-and-learn mindset to continuously refine campaign strategy and effectiveness.
* 6+ years in account management within a creative, digital, or integrated agency, working with global or regional clients (preferably Benelux, DACH & Iberia).
* Experience working with FMCG and/or OTC Consumer Health clients, as well as within agile Content Studio models, is a strong advantage.
* Deep understanding of social media, digital ecosystems, and emerging marketing technologies.
* Strong experience managing multi-market accounts with a pulse on cultural nuances.
* Exceptional project management skills with proven ability to juggle multiple priorities.
* Strategic mindset, with a strong business acumen and creative sensibility.
* Confident communicator and presenter, with excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills.
* Strong leadership abilities and a collaborative, team-first approach.
* Comfortable working with data & AI-powered technologies and using it to enhance strategy, performance tracking and creative development.
* Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field (preferred).
Languages
* High proficiency in English & Spanish (essential)
* Dutch, Flemish and/or French (strongly preferred)
* Catalan and/or German (a plus)
