Job Description
SO/ Sotogrande, a prestigious hotel on the coast of Sotogrande, Spain, is looking for a talented and passionate Cook to join our culinary team. As a Cook at SO/ Sotogrande, you will play a pivotal role in creating exceptional dining experiences for our guests, showcasing the best of Spanish and international cuisine.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes according to menu specifications and culinary standards
- Assist in menu planning and development, incorporating seasonal ingredients and local flavors
- Ensure proper food handling, hygiene, and storage practices are followed at all times in the kitchen
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment, ensuring cleanliness and functionality
- Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain efficient kitchen operation and timely food service
- Assist in inventory management and food cost control
- Participate in special culinary events and themed dining experiences
- Adapt to changing needs and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
- Contribute to a positive and professional kitchen atmosphere
Qualifications
- Experience as a cook, preferably in a luxury hotel or resort
- Strong culinary skills and techniques, with experience in Spanish and Mediterranean cuisine
- Solid knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining kitchen equipment
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
- Strong teamwork and effective communication
- Fluent in Spanish; knowledge of English is a plus
- Diploma or degree in cooking preferred
- Food safety certification required
- Passion for gastronomy and commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences
- Flexibility to work in different shifts, including weekends and holidays
