The team is scaling quickly, with clear internal career paths and strong partnerships with national opinion leaders and major hospitals.Role purposeYou will be one of the first dedicated engineers in a new surgical robotics program. Your mission is to ensure flawless installation, uptime and support for a next generation pelvic and urologic robotic platform in leading hospitals across Catalonia and neighboring regions.You will be the technical face of the organisation and the manufacturer inside the operating room, working closely with surgeons, nurses and clinical specialists to ensure every case runs safely and smoothly.Key responsibilitiesInstallation and deployment• Lead onsite installation and validation of new surgical robotic systems in key hospitals• Coordinate with the central engineering team and the manufacturer's European team for planning and technical approvals• Ensure OR integration, connectivity and safety checks are completed before first patient useIn theatre support• Provide intensive in-theatre presence during the initial months after each installation• Support surgeons and nursing staff during cases, ensuring the system is ready, safe and optimised• Gradually reduce presence as case volume stabilises while remaining available for critical casesService, troubleshooting and maintenance• Act as first line for technical issues on the installed fleet in your region• Perform preventative maintenance, basic repairs and escalate complex issues when needed• Prioritise interventions based on patient impact, OR schedules and safety• Maintain accurate records of incidents, fixes and upgrades according to internal and manufacturer proceduresDemos, evaluations and congress support• Support live demos and evaluation periods in hospitals comparing robotic platforms• Prepare systems, attend procedures and provide technical reassurance to new users• Occasionally support national and regional congresses and workshopsCollaboration and reporting• Work closely with clinical specialists, sales and engineering coordination to plan coverage• Provide structured feedback on product performance, user insights and recurring technical challenges• Contribute to continuous improvement of installation and service processesProfile and requirementsMust have• Experience with capital medical equipment in the operating room such as laparoscopy towers, vision systems, surgical tables, advanced energy or imaging (MRI, CT, high end ultrasound)• Strong hands-on technical skills, confident with complex electromechanical systems and software based troubleshooting• Direct exposure to surgical environments and understanding of OR etiquette and workflow• Native or fluent Spanish and a good level of English for manufacturer training and internal communication• Willingness to travel frequently within the region, including periods of very high OR presence during launch phasesNice to have• Experience with surgical robotics such as Da Vinci, Versius, Hugo, Asensus or similar platforms• Background from companies like Stryker, Olympus, Johnson & Johnson, Karl Storz, Boston Scientific or other high end capital equipment manufacturers• Catalan or Portuguese depending on locationPersonal traits• Proactive mindset, anticipates problems and acts early• Calm, reliable presence in the OR even when unexpected issues arise• Strong sense of responsibility regarding patient safety and surgeon confidence• Clear communicator, organised and able to prioritise intelligentlyWhy join• Be part of a flagship national robotics program at a pivotal moment of growth• Work closely with senior leaders rather than being a small number in a large multinational• Real opportunities to grow into senior engineering coordination or technical leadership as the installed base expands• Daily interaction with leading surgeons and major hospitals, building a strong long term MedTech networkIf interested, please reach out on LinkedIn or on
