- Bachelor University Degree Proficient / fluent Spanish and proficient/fluent English.
- 5 years experience working in a KYC Due Diligence or AML Compliance team.
Knowledge and hard skills:
- Thorough knowledge of KYC processes and AML risk and regulation: FATCA, CRS, MiFID, EMIR, Dodd-Frank.
- High level general understanding of CIB businesses.
- Knowledge of Fenergo, Orbis, SWIFT KYC Registry an advantage.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel.

Corporate & Investment Banking encompasses the activities of investment banking, global markets, loans, etc. for corporate and investment clients. The Client Onboarding, Know Your Clients (KYC) and Customer Data department operates as part of CIB Operations. This role is the opportunity to lead a team which is a key centre of competence for the management of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Sanctions risk, together with:
- The international businesses of the Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) and the BBVA Group in the case of correspondent banks relationships.
- Compliance.
- Legal.
Main tasks:
- Responsponsibility for the excellence of the role performed by the KYC & Customer Data team.
- In daily interaction with the different Business areas and Compliance internationally, ensure the prompt, ensure the accurate, timely and consistent execution of:
- KYC onboarding of new client relationships.
- Onboarding of clients in the relevant CIB systems.
- Reviews and continuous improvement of the processes, with special emphasis on quality and efficiency.
- Definition and maintenance of KPIs and process controls.
- Ad hoc preparation of relevant documentation, including internal and external regulatory audits.
- Management of the relationships with stakeholders including Relationship Managers, Sales, Product Specialists, Compliance, Legal.
- Active participation in projects that are relevant to the function, including special attention to the communication and training of stakeholders for newly implemented processes.
- Participation in industry forums and knowledge of best practices.
