Overview
Hillside Health Care (HHC) is seeking a volunteer Medical Director to oversee its delivery of medical care and the educational experience for students in educational rotations in the Toledo district, Belize. The organization provides health care and disease prevention services to underserved communities and operates year-round in Eldridgeville and through mobile clinics to 16 villages. HHC emphasizes outreach, education, and a teaching mission with volunteer practitioners and collaborations with the Belize Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, and local and international partners.
HHC seeks a six-month commitment from the Medical Director. A monthly stipend is provided to support living in Punta Gorda, Belize.
Under the direction of the Medical Director and with support from the Director of Programs and the Clinic Director, the Medical Director shall oversee medical services and the educational experiences for students participating in Hillside\'s rotations.
Responsibilities
* Render medical services for HHC in accordance with the quality and standards of the Belize Ministry of Health.
* Provide supervision for year-round educational medicine for medical, physician assistant, physical therapy, public health, and pharmacy students.
* Oversee patient encounters and care rendered at the clinic and in mobile outreach as applicable.
* Coordinate and support educational rotations, working with volunteer preceptors and program staff.
* Collaborate with the Director of Programs and the Clinic Director to handle administrative aspects of HHC’s medical program.
