JOB SUMMARY

The Finance Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing the Finance Department, which includes Accounting, Treasury, and Cost Control. The role ensures sound financial management, compliance with regulatory requirements, and alignment of financial strategies with the company’s overall business direction. The Finance Manager also establishes policies, develops procedures, and initiates continuous improvements in financial operations.

PRINICIPAL DUTIES

1. Strategic Planning & Budgeting

- Develop and implement the Finance Department’s annual goals, objectives, and budget.
- Participate in the formulation of company strategic plans, annual budgets, and periodic business reviews.
- Manage finance-related projects in alignment with the company’s strategic direction.

2. Financial Management & Compliance

- Ensure the effective implementation of accounting policies, internal controls, and financial procedures.
- Develop and oversee tax planning strategies to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Review financial reports, analyses, and forecasts to support business decision-making.

3. Process & System Improvement

- Continuously evaluates and improves financial systems, workflows, and reporting processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and transparency.

4. Leadership & People Management

- Conduct regular departmental meetings to review performance, address issues, and align team objectives.
- Manage staffing requirements, including recruitment, training, and professional development in coordination with Human Resources.
- Provide coaching, performance appraisals, and career development opportunities to staff.
- Ensure the department meets key result areas (KRAs) and organizational goals.

5. Stakeholder Relations

- Serve as primary liaison with external auditors, banks, tax authorities (BIR), corporate counsel, and other government institutions.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth financial operations.

6. Resource Management

- Oversee the effective utilization of departmental resources, including manpower, systems, processes, and equipment.
- Ensure financial operations are cost-effective and aligned with company objectives.

7. Perform other related duties as may be assigned by superior from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Master’s degree or MBA units preferred; Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in Finance, preferably within the real estate industry.

Competencies:

- Strong background in managerial accounting, controllership, financial planning, budgeting, government reporting, and tax administration
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and accounting/ERP systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Adept at process improvement and implementing internal controls
